Its core centers of excellence include diagnostic and surgical cardiology, obstetrics and women’s health, cancer care services, emergency care with FastTrack, diabetes management, inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services, surgery and pediatrics.

The hospital’s highly trained medical staff includes more than 1,300 trained healthcare professionals, including 380 physicians and specialists in every major medical field including cardiology, cardiac surgery and electrophysiology, family practice, internal medicine, medical oncology, radiation oncology, neurology, neurosurgery, neonatology, nephrology, otolaryngology, orthopedic surgery, plastic surgery, infectious disease, pulmonary medicine, gastroenterology, pain medicine, psychiatry, pediatrics obstetrics/gynecology, and urology.

CMMC the first hospital in Jackson to offer safer radiation treatments, including the state’s only Gamma Knife Perfexion; one of the first hospitals in the nation to add a PET/CT scanner to its nuclear medicine department; the first hospital in Mississippi to offer several comprehensive programs including weight management, balance and hearing and wound management; the first hospital to introduce a pediatric hospitalist program; and, to offer digital mammography combined with a special computer-aided detection system the R2 ImageChecker®, for its extensive Women’s Services program entitled, Sorella.

Each patient has a specially designated primary nurse who coordinates nursing care, provides patient eduction and facilitates discharge planning.
